(ROFEL, Pharmacy Alumni Association and Research Society)

ROTARY CLUB OF VAPI – a Member Club of Rotary International devoted to social work; has established in 1985 an Educational Trust named ‘ROTARY FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION AND LEARNING’ Popularly known as ‘ROFEL’ to provide educational facilities in the region at all levels. In the initial years, the trust organized and awarded scholarships to local students to enable them to study outside Vapi in various disciplines, ranging from engineering and medicine to business administration, arts and commerce. The Trust started the first Arts & Commerce College in Vapi in 1990, followed by many educational institutions as follows :

Alumni Constitution :
ROFEL Pharmacy Alumni Association & Research Society (ROFEL PAARS) is being set up to empower the new graduates through all its knowledge resources and through creating live networking among alumni. It will strengthen the bonds between the alumni and their alma mater and it will bring together the alumni on a common platform. I invite all alumni to come, join and develop ROFEL PAARS to serve their needs optimally.
ROFEL PAARS shall create and maintain a life-long connection between the Institute and its alumni, who number more than 700 B Pharm and 225 M Pharm students. In collaboration with an extremely dedicated Principal, the Alumni Association works to connect alumni, alumni faculty, support students and build an unforgetable Institute experience through a diversity of events, programming and services.
Vision and priorities, the mission of the Association is to foster strong bonds between alumni, students and the Institute, to keep alumni informed, and create a network enabling them to remain engaged with their alma mater and help shape it's future through the Association's programmes and services.
Alumni Outreach Building Membership : The College's alumni are its lasting legacy and strongest voice. Finding new ways to build an engaged membership base is an integral task of the Association. Joining ROFEL PAARS is one of the easiest ways to reconnect, give back to the Institute, and serve as a springboard for further involvement.
How to Become a Life Member : Anyone who has completed one academic year as a student at ROFEL Shri G M Bilakhia College of Pharmacy is eligible for life membership. Membership life time fees are Rs. 200/- only. You can download the application form, fill it up, attach a photograph and a cheque or cash deposition for Rs. 200/- drawn in favour of ROFEL PAARS and post it to: ROFEL PAARS, ROFEL Shri G M Bilakhia College of Pharmacy, ROFEL-Namdha Campus, P.Box. Involvement and Services : Developing an active and engaged alumni network empowers both the Institute and its graduates. Whether our alumni are interacting with the Institute or its student body, attending events, working with the Institute on various Legacy projects or serving as volunteers, their contributions make a difference to ROFEL Shri G M Bilakhia College of Pharmacy. The Alumni Association continues to seek innovative ways to serve alumni by providing social, educational, and professional opportunities that appeal to our broad constituency. Your Alumni Association offers:-
Alumni Career and Networking Services : You can participate in seminars, workshops, and technical events that showcase your skills and accomplishments, and take advantage of opportunities to meet specialists and eminent captains of industry. The focus is on innovations originating in Health and Technology and the event showcases selected novel ideas in practice, and provides a platform for the innovators to disseminate their ideas to a wider and well-connected audience.
Life-long Learning : Enjoy lectures, discussion sessions, on-campus conferences, conducted by eminent alumni and current and emeriti faculty.
Student-Alumni Contact : Support current students @ROFEL PAARS, Vapi through different mentoring opportunities either by being a part of on-campus lectures or through an in-person or online commitment; provide internships; recruit fresh graduates; present career programs etc.
Events and Reunions : Be a part of events @ ROFEL Shri G M Bilakhia College of Pharmacy. One Decade Class Reunion and various other reunions. Association members are also invited to campus events like Foundation Day, and other cultural events on Campus. In addition, there are picnics outings, sports events, and meetings of various special interest groups within the alumni in Vapi and elsewhere in the country as part of its chapter outreach events.
 
Office:
The Alumni Association shall maintain its registered office at the ROFEL Shri G M Bilakhia College of Pharmacy in Vapi and function from this office, as may be decided by the office bearers (Executives Committees) of Association.

Aims and Objectives :
To provide a vibrant forum that promotes interaction and networking among alumni of the Institute.
To create a sense of brotherhood, co-operation, mutual harmony, and affection amongst the members of the Association.
To help alumni achieve their professional and societal goals
To help alumni in their hour of need
To facilitate the association of alumni with their Alma Mater
To contribute to the Institute’s vision of being recognized among the world’s leading institutions in academics, research, outreach, and innovation
To function on charitable basis, and to run the Association on ‘no profit no loss’ basis
To promote best practices in different areas of science, technology, humanities and social sciences for the benefit of the society, especially weaker sections
To create awareness about the Institute and its alumni in the public; and
To assist deserving students from the sections of the society financially and otherwise.
To foster linkages amongst the alumni and promote personal and friendly relations through meetings and get-togethers, tours / trips etc.
To organize programs for the entertainment and enjoyment of the members of the Association
To collect, publish and distribute such information as may be useful to members of the Association
 
2.
Organization
 
2.1
Patron :
    The Principal of the ROFEL Shri G M Bilakhia College of Pharmacy, Vapi shall be the exofficio Patron / Chairman of the Association.
 
2.2
Membership :
    The Association shall have the following categories of members :
   
1.
Persons who have received degree(s) awarded by the Institute, herein referred to as the alumni, as Members and those who have paid the membership fee as defined elsewhere as Active Members.
   
2.
The students of the final year of graduation in the Institute as Student Members.
   
3.
Such persons, to be decided by the Executive Committee, who may be of help in attaining the objectives of the Association as Invited Members for a period of one year. The Training and Placement officer of the Institute shall ex-officio be an Invited Member.
   
4.
All past Principal of the institute and current faculty at institute.
   
5.
An eminent person honoured by the Institute.
 
Membership Fee
The Life Membership for the Active Members of the Association shall be Rs 200/-.
 
General Body :
The General Body shall consist of all the members of the Association as defined in Clause 2.2(1) 2.2(2) and 2.2(3). The Regular and Life Members shall comprise the General Body of the Association. The General Body shall be the supreme body of the Association in taking decision on any matter relating to the Association and on all matters brought before them by the Office Bearers (Executive Committee) of association or by any member of the Association. The General Body shall function in accordance with By-Laws of the Association.

The General Body of the Association shall consist of all the members of the Association.
2.
The General Body shall meet, at least once a year at a time and place in accordance with the recommendations of the by-laws committee.
3.
The quorum for the General Body Meeting shall be thirty Active Members. For those General Body Meetings which are to consider any constitutional change, the quorum shall be forty-five Active Members.
4.
At the Annual General Body Meeting, to be held between January to March, the Secretary shall present the Annual Report of the activities of the Association and the Treasurer shall submit the financial and audit reports.
5.
All faculty members of the Institute with two years standing shall be the Affiliate Members of the Association.
 
Executive Committee
The Association shall function through its committee which shall comprise of the following Elected, Nominated and Ex-Officio members:
 
Elected Members
1.
President : President shall be a Life Member of the Association.
2.
Vice Presidents : Two Vice Presidents named as Vice President-1 and Vice President-2 as given below :
 
Vice President-1 : Shall be a Regular or Life Member of the Association and a resident of India, and
 
Vice President-2 : Shall be a Regular or Life Member of the Association and a resident of a country other than India.
3.
Secretary : Secretary shall be a Regular or Life Member of the Association and also be an employee of the Institute.
4.
Treasurer : Treasurer shall be a Regular or Life Member of the Association and also be an employee of the Institute.
5.
Members : Five members as follows :
 
Member 1 : Shall be Life Member of the Association with undergraduate degree from the Institute and a resident of India.
 
Member 2 : Shall be or Life Member of the Association with undergraduate degree from the Institute and a resident of a country other than India.
 
Member 3 : Shall be or Life Member of the Association who has obtained Master’s degree in any subject from the Institute and a resident of India.
 
Member 4 : Shall be or Life Member of the Association who has obtained Master’s degree in any subject from the Institute and a resident of a country other than India.
 
Member 5 : This is reserved for an alumna of the Institute. She should be Life Member of the Association who has obtained any degree from the Institute and is a resident of any country.

Term of Executive Committee :
The term of the Executive Committee shall be three years from the date of assuming office and shall be reconstituted every three year.
 
Office Bearers :
President, Vice Presidents, Treasurer and Secretary shall be the office Bearers of the Association.
 
Powers of the Board :
For the purpose of implementing the decisions taken during its tenure, the Board shall be empowered to: constitute various committees for the purpose of executing its responsibilities more efficiently, and exercise other powers as described in By-laws of the Association.
 
Appointment of Executive Committee :
The General Body shall appoint all the Office Bearers and other elected members of the Board through elections, which shall be conducted as per the procedure laid down in the By-laws of the Association.
 
Elections :
All active members of the association shall have the right to vote, propose, second or be a candidate for the elected positions of the executive committee.
The secretary and treasurer of the executive committee shall be amongst the active members who are employees of the institute.
Elections shall be conducted by the outgoing executive committee in the annual general body meeting to be held between January to March of every three years.
 
Term
The term of the executive committee shall be about three years. The outgoing executive shall hand over charge to the incoming Executive within fifteen days of the elections.
 
Affairs :
The affairs of the association shall be managed by the Executive Committee.
The quorum for an Executive Committee meeting shall be four voting members.
Any three members of the Executive Committee can requisition a meeting of the committee by sending written request to the secretary.
The Executive Committee may co-opt up to four members for any specific purposes. Co-opted members shall be invited to the meetings of the Executive Committee but shall have no voting rights. The immediate past Secretary shall be co-opted to the Executive Committee if he is not already a member in some capacity.
The Executive Committee shall have the power to incur expenditure necessary to achieve the aims and objectives of the Association.
In the event of a member of the Executive Committee resigning or not being available for the rest of the term, the other members of the Committee shall appoint another member. The member so appointed shall hold office with full duties and privileges.
The time of the Annual General Body Meeting shall be announced to its member’s three months in advance.
 
Funds :
(A)
The Association may receive funds, donations, and financial assistance from any non-political source for the furtherance of its objective.
(B)
The Executive Committee shall determine the expenditure, which is necessary to carry on the affairs of the Association and is authorized to incur such expenditure. In this connection, within 30 days of the Annual General Body meeting, a meeting of the Executive Committee will be held with the Patron / Chairman of the Association in which a proforma of a major activities for the coming year will be discussed and finalized, including budgetary allocation. The Patron / Chairman shall preside over this meeting. Once the budget has been approved, the responsibility for proper utilization of funds will be that of the President. The President may seek the advice of the Chairman, if necessary. All investments will be ratified by the General Body at its next meeting.
(C)
All monies received on behalf of the Association shall be placed in the name of the Alumni Association in an account to be maintained in a bank to be approved by the Executive Committee. Any two of the Chairman, President, Secretary and Treasurer will sign all cheques up to 20,000/- and those above Rs. 20, 000/- shall require the signatures of the chairman. All Expenditure more than Rs.5000/- shall have the prior approval of the Chairman/President.
(D)
The Association's financial year shall end on March 31st. The Executive Committee shall direct the accounts at least once a year by the auditor appointed by the General Body at the Annual General Meeting.(
 
Amendments :
1.
Suggestions for amendment of the Constitution signed by at least ten active members shall reach the Secretary in writing at least three months prior to the Annual Meeting.
2.
The Secretary shall circulate these suggestions to all the members at least one month before the Annual Meeting, where the amendments are to be discussed.
3.
No amendment of the Constitution or its by-laws shall be made except by the vote of at least two-thirds of the Active Members.
